Cambodia : TOTAL opens new oil storage depot in Phnom Penh February 13, 1996 TOTAL opened its first oil storage depot in Cambodia on February 10, in a ceremony attended by Mr. SAR Kheng, Vice Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia, and Mr. Jacques Lafond, President of TOTAL-Asia. The depot, which has been in operation since the start of the year, supplies the marketing network established by TOTAL in Cambodia last year. The network currently comprises ten stations. The depot has a total capacity of 8,000 cubic meters and is located on the Mekong river, downstream from Phnom Penh. It will therefore have access to supplies from export refineries in Southeast Asia. The creation of the depot fits with TOTAL's strategy to expand its downstream activities in South East Asia, notably in Cambodia where the Group was authorized to develop a service station network approximately one year ago. TOTAL aims to expand the network to some twenty-five stations over the next two years, and to control at least 15 % of the market. |
